Set recovery time and data-loss objectives
Keep RTO, RPO, tolerable downtime, fallback and evidence connected without treating targets as tested capability.
Use distinct measures
- RTO measures elapsed recovery time; RPO bounds acceptable data loss.
- Neither proves recovery occurred.
Check feasibility
- RTO must not exceed maximum tolerable downtime.
- Include people and external dependencies.
Test the target
- Compare observed exercise results against the objective.
- Keep misses and follow-up visible.
Retain the continuity record
The Business Continuity Studio keeps critical services, scenarios, exercises, gaps and decisions connected. It does not activate a plan, contact anyone, change systems or spend money.
