Start with the recovery path that matches the symptom. Kwideo keeps unsupported media, missing permissions, offline files, and unavailable codecs explicit.

Project and recovery

Open Recent Projects or select the intended .kwideo package. After an interrupted session, compare the newest recovery state with the last manual save. Use Timeline Snapshots to return to a named edit state.

Offline or rejected media

Reconnect the source drive and use Relink. Choose the same media kind as the original. For image sequences, select every consecutive frame. If a stream has no compatible decoder, transcode a copy to ProRes, H.264, HEVC, PCM WAV/BWF, AIFF, PNG, or TIFF while preserving the original.

Camera RAW

Blackmagic RAW is available on Mac and compatible physical iPads, but not iPad Simulator. RED R3D is Mac-only because no iPadOS decoder is published by RED.

Playback or export

For playback, enable proxies on Mac, reduce viewer quality, bypass expensive temporal effects, and use fast local storage. For export, verify disk space, destination access, online sources, valid dimensions, and a codec supported by the current device.

Mac audio plug-ins

Kwideo does not lower macOS security. Update an unavailable plug-in, install a sandbox-compatible Audio Unit or VST3 version, or replace and render the effect.
